Overview
The aim of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program is to provide training in Population health and organisational change for mid-career health professionals, preparing them to take on senior scientific or leadership roles in the population health and healthcare fields.
Admission Requirements
Applicants for admission to the MPH must have:
- completed a degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline;
- met the University’s English language requirement (please refer to page eight).
Equivalence to the academic requirement may be granted for students with appropriate training and relevant experience.
Course Structure
The MPH requires students to complete three core coursework units, two core research methodology units, a Research Project equivalent to six units, and one other unit of the student’s choice. There are no prerequisites for the core course units. The Research Project must be completed within two consecutive semesters.
Career Opportunities
A graduate of the MPH will have the skills required to build effective public health systems, develop health policy, assess community needs, plan for needed health services, construct disease surveillance systems and design and carry out basic
public health research projects.
